Have you ever seen the Golden Gate Bridge? Have you ever craned your neck trying to look up at a tall skyscraper?
There are many fine buildings out there. They are located all over the world!! The Eiffel Tower, in Paris, for example.
How do they build and LIVE in places like Venice WHILE THE CITY IS SINKING?! Man, I don't know if I'd want to live there. Or don't you ever wonder why people ever bother to live near the San Andreas Fault? How do you build a good earthquake-resistant building? I bet people living in the Midwest would sure like to have a tornado-resistant house! I just don't get it. People living in hurricane-prone areas such as Miami, Florida and the Gulf Coast just keep living there, despite the hurricane threat. Is it possible to construct an hurricane-resistant building?
On this board we will explore the inspiration and the daunting challenges of Architecture.
